Friends in Christ's Private Kindergarten puts your child ahead of the rest.
We offer a comprehensive learning experience in a Christ-centered, loving, and nurturing environment.

Kindergarten Curriculum

Upon completion of our kindergarten program, each child will be academically and socially prepared to enter first grade.
Our curriculum consists of an intensive phonics and math program plus the integration of science and social studies into lessons that children can apply to everyday situations.

Language Arts

Our language art curriculum is comprised of Saxon Phonics and Spelling taught in combination with quality literature. The program focuses on the important foundational skills of phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, fluency and handwriting. Saxon is a success-oriented series that allows children to develop a solid foundation in phonics, thus becoming successful readers and spellers by building on prior learning. New material is presented in increments and reviewed throughout the year, providing every child with the exposure needed to achieve success.

Math

With Saxon Math, instruction builds on the foundation of previously learned material, leading students to a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts by using manipulatives and hands-on activities.

Social and Spiritual

Socially, our goal is for each child is to know they are loved and accepted while being challenged to meet their full potential. As a Christian school, children learn basic Christian values through example, prayer, Bible stories, songs and weekly Chapel.
By keeping our student to teacher ratio low, students have the opportunity to acquire the academic and social skills needed to excel in public schools.

Extracurriculars

Music

Our Music Enrichment Class introduces children to the world of music through singing, moving, listening, and playing simple age-appropriate instruments. It’s a great way for them to explore their creativity and develop a lifelong love of music.

Chapel

Chapel time is a highlight of each week where students actively participate in our mini worship service as they grow in their faith and praise God through singing, dancing, and hearing an age-appropriate message.

Movement

Spanish

We believe running, jumping, dancing, and learning to balance is the best way to encourage children’s gross motor development. We create learning environments where children can make progress in their physical growth and help them make mind-body connections that boost their confidence and coordination.
Children learn a second language like their first - through engaging songs, stories, games, and activities.  Kids learn best when it feels like play! Spanish is included for ages 3 years and up.

Allison Maciula

Kindergarten Teacher

Hello FIC families!
My name is Allison Maciula and I am thrilled to be teaching the Kindergarten class here at FIC this year! I taught for Lewisville ISD for 10 years before coming to FIC to teach alongside my own children. I am married with 3 children of my own own; August (8), Parker Paige (6), and Charlotte (4). Family is everything to me and that includes my school family! Our classroom community stands firm on respect and biblical values like love, joy and kindness. Kindergarten is such a fun and important year of growth. I can’t wait to see your child bloom physically, academically, emotionally, and most of all, spiritually. I absolutely love to teach and it is my great joy and honor to get to know and teach your child this year!

Fun Facts:
My husband and I have known each other since 9th grade. We have 3 kiddos and 2 dogs, Millie and Pearl. I love spending time with friends & family, shopping, crafting, hiking, TEACHING J and anything active and outdoors!
